Where to find:

The iTunes updates xml file on Apple's server:

http://phobos.apple.com/version

Contains names and descriptions for all iTunes/iPod/iPhone software updates.

Download the restore image you need. When downloaded by iTunes they go in:

Users/user_name/library/itunes/iphone software updates

C:/Documents and Settings/user_name/LocalSettings/Application Data/itunes

How to extract:

1. First, rename extension to .zip and unzip.
