Mattel Hyperscan

The Hardware

Software

Below is info about the available software.

Two project sub-pages: Hyperscan Tool chain and OpenHyper

GCC (score target)

GCCsupports S+Core archectecture as a target, "score".

eCOS

eCOS is fully supported (supposedly) on the hardware. Have yet to find official support on the eCOS website.

It is likely that the hyperscan uses eCOS as its primary OS, and that Hyperscan runs eCOS binaries.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ECos

Linux

At least someone else (looks like Sunplus) was trying to make uClinux run on the SPG290 S+core

Todo

  1. setup a GCC instance with cross-arch tools for score.
  2. How much is in the roms and what is it? (I suspect that it is just a bootloader)
  3. What is in hyper.exe? (I suspect that it is the game and eCOS as a binary)
  4. Get hyperscan to run new code.
  5. Get hyperscan to run a console.
